Grand Forks: Man Found Dead on Red River Greenway

Grand Forks (trfnews.i234.me) — Police are investigating after a man was found dead along the Red River.

What happened

Police say the call came in on Wednesday at 2:07 p.m.

A passerby reported an unresponsive man on the Greenway.

The location was south of the railroad bridge.

Officers arrived and found the man face down in the snow.

Police said he was clearly deceased at the scene.

No life-saving efforts were started due to the situation.

Investigators did not see obvious trauma at the scene.

Police have not confirmed a cause of death.

Cold conditions limited a full body exam at the time.

Police said more examination work is still needed.

That work will help determine how the man died.

Authorities said there is no known threat to the public.

The man’s identity is not being released at this time.

Police said his name will be shared after the family is notified.

The investigation remains active as facts are reviewed.

The Greenway runs along the Red River in Greater Grand Forks.

It includes trails, parks, and open space near the river.

It is used for walking, biking, and winter recreation.
