Grand Forks Man Faces Charges for Unsuccessful Raffle

GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) A Grand Forks man is facing a felon charge for allegedly running a raffle on facebook to win a car. Ronnie Marion allegedly held raffles, but never gave away the car.
40 year old ronnie marion of grand forks is facing a felony charge for allegedly running a fraudulent facebook scam in the fall of 2020. court documents say a raffle was done in a private face group facebook group three times conducted by marion the prize was a 2013 dodge challenger and each entry was ten dollars marion told the investigating agent that he had a 17 to 18 thousand dollar lien on the vehicle so he decided to raffle it off three different raffles were allegedly held but the car was never given away no total dollar amount in the alleged scam is revealed but court documents say the agent reported 766 transactions on his paypal account ranging from ten dollars to seven hundred dollars for each transaction the charge of fraudulent scheme or technique to cheat or skim is a class c felony that carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
