TRAILL COUNTY, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – Jay Dee Weigand of Grand Forks is facing serious criminal charges in Traill County, North Dakota, involving a minor female. According to court documents, the girl’s mother discovered sexually explicit text and Facebook messages on her daughter’s phone and reported them to the Sheriff’s Department. The exchange of explicit messages occurred between October and November of 2023, when the victim was 17 and Weigand was 46.
In addition to the sexual messages and photos, Weigand reportedly threatened the girl, texting, “If you hurt me, I’ll kill you.” The pair also met in a vehicle, during which Weigand left a handgun with her. As a result, Weigand is now charged with felonies for luring minors by computer and terrorizing, as well as a misdemeanor for lending or giving a handgun to a minor.
