Grand Forks Man Charged After Large Drug Seizure
Grand Forks County ( trfnews.i234.me ) – A Grand Forks man is facing multiple felony drug charges after a traffic stop led to the discovery of a large quantity of narcotics and paraphernalia associated with drug sales.
According to court documents, 26-year-old Cameron Shane Anderson was arrested after law enforcement searched his vehicle and allegedly found methamphetamine, fentanyl, marijuana, THC products, and other items commonly used in drug distribution.
Anderson is charged with Class A felony possession of at least 50 grams of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, Class B felony fentanyl possession with intent, Class C felony marijuana possession with intent, and Class C felony THC possession with intent. The most serious charge carries a potential 20-year prison sentence if convicted.
The arrest stemmed from a traffic stop in which an officer learned that Anderson was driving on a suspended license. A probation search of his vehicle was authorized, and investigators say they found:
- 43 THC vape cartridges
- Approximately one pound and 2.8 ounces of marijuana
- Three ounces of methamphetamine
- 0.3 ounces of fentanyl
- Various paraphernalia, including burnt tinfoil, designer baggies, a ledger, a grinder, and a digital scale
Law enforcement also seized $1,457 in cash. Anderson allegedly told officers that all items in the vehicle were his and not the passenger’s. He admitted to “trading points of fentanyl with friends in the past,” according to the probable cause statement.
Investigators believe that, based on the quantities, ledger, and cash, the drugs were intended for sale and not solely for personal use.
Anderson made his initial court appearance on Friday, October 17. His next hearing, a preliminary hearing and/or arraignment, is scheduled for 9 a.m. on November 24 in Grand Forks County District Court.
