Grand Forks Man Charged After 97 MPH Chase on Washington Street

GRAND FORKS, NORTH DAKOTA (trfnews.i234.me) — A Grand Forks man is facing multiple felony charges after leading police on a high-speed pursuit through town. According to court documents, the incident occurred the night of October 10 at approximately 9:07 p.m.

Authorities say Keaton J. Hendricks of Grand Forks was clocked driving 97 miles per hour down South Washington Street. When an officer attempted a traffic stop, Hendricks allegedly refused to pull over and fled at high speed through the area.

After a brief pursuit, Hendricks eventually stopped and surrendered in the parking lot of Edgewood Senior Living in Grand Forks. When questioned by officers, Hendricks reportedly said, “Honestly, as soon as I seen you, I got very nervous and I took off.”

Hendricks is now charged with two felony counts — Fleeing a Peace Officer and Reckless Endangerment. No injuries or property damage were reported during the chase.

The Grand Forks Police Department continues to investigate. Fleeing from law enforcement in North Dakota is a serious offense and can result in imprisonment, license suspension, and substantial fines. More information about North Dakota criminal traffic laws is available from the North Dakota Courts.
