Grand Forks Man Busted with Nearly 15 Pounds of Meth Faces 20 Years in Prison

GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – A Grand Forks man, Walter Dane Carlson, 60, is staring down a potential 20-year prison sentence after authorities discovered nearly 15 pounds of methamphetamine in his Belmont Road home.

On Monday, August 12, the Grand Forks Narcotics Task Force, along with the Pine to Prairie Drug Task Force, executed a search warrant at Carlson’s residence, uncovering 6,780.7 grams of meth—much of it pre-packaged for sale.

Officers also found a digital scale, indicating active drug distribution.

Carlson, charged with possession with intent to sell, faces severe penalties, as North Dakota law considers 50 grams of meth a Class A felony.

His bond is set at $100,000, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for September 23.
