GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – A 21-year-old Grand Forks man has avoided prison time for a months-long burglary spree, but could face decades behind bars if he violates probation.
Ian Paul Kramchuck was sentenced Monday, Aug. 4, in two state-level burglary cases — just months after receiving a 46-month federal sentence in May for armed robbery.
Kramchuck pleaded guilty to all charges, including:
-
One Class B felony
-
19 Class C felonies (across both cases)
-
Two Class A misdemeanors
-
Seven Class B misdemeanors
The crimes were tied to break-ins, thefts, and property damage at several Grand Forks businesses and vehicles.
The Sentences
-
Single felony case: 5 years, all suspended except time served.
-
Multi-felony case: 10 years + 1 month, all suspended except time served.
-
Probation: 2 years supervised, then 360 days unsupervised.
If probation is violated, Kramchuck faces up to the maximum penalty for each charge — 10 years for Class B felonies, 5 years for Class C felonies, and up to 360 or 30 days for misdemeanors.
Probation conditions include:
-
No new law violations
-
No possession of weapons, alcohol, or illegal drugs
-
No surveillance equipment
-
No tampering with drug tests
The Burglaries
Court records say Kramchuck:
-
Broke into First National Pawn
-
Burglarized Deeks Pizza, The Hub Pub, and The Toasted Frog
-
Stole cash, credit cards, a card reader, a bottle of Adderall, and a Glock 48
-
Damaged doors and cash registers
-
Tried to break into Valley Dairy and several vehicles
-
Stole a pickup, later found with many of the stolen items inside
Kramchuck remains under federal custody for his earlier robbery conviction.
