FARGO, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) – On November 29, 2024, David Berg, 48, was arrested for theft and preventing arrest. Berg allegedly took his girlfriend’s phone and car from her workplace in Grand Forks shortly after 6:00 p.m. He then drove the vehicle to West Fargo.
Around 8:00 p.m. the same evening, West Fargo Police conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of Sheyenne Street on the reported stolen vehicle. Berg reportedly resisted arrest by refusing to comply with officers and moving his hands toward his chest, necessitating officers to subdue him to the ground before handcuffing him.
During transport to jail, Berg claimed his girlfriend had requested him to take the vehicle to Fargo and then return to Grand Forks to pick her up. After investigation, West Fargo Police assessed the vehicle’s value at $5,042.
