Grand Forks, Grand Forks County (trfnews.i234.me) – A correctional officer at the Grand Forks County Jail is now on the other side of the bars.
Juan Ortiz Lopez was arrested on June 16 after investigators with the Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office and BCI identified him as the suspect in a contraband smuggling investigation.
The probe began on June 13, and after Lopez was interviewed at work, he was arrested for the delivery of an electronic device to an inmate—a Class C felony.
Following his arrest, a search of inmate cells revealed a cell phone and charger hidden in a mattress. Authorities confirm the investigation is still ongoing.
