Grand Forks (trfnews.i234.me) — Ideal Inn Motel Demolished After Human Cage Rumors
The Ideal Inn on Gateway Drive, Grand Forks, a motel that had long been vacant, has officially been demolished and removed. Last fall, the abandoned building was at the center of eerie speculation after reports surfaced of a secret room and a possible human cage in the basement—sparking widespread rumors that it could be linked to a missing woman.
Law enforcement thoroughly investigated these claims but found no evidence to support them. Lieutenant Jeremy Mo of the Grand Forks Police Department confirmed that officers inspected the site and determined that what was initially described as a “cage” was merely a partitioned storage space enclosed by a plastic snow fence.
“There is nothing on scene that would suggest foul play,” Mo stated, emphasizing that no names of any missing individuals were carved into the walls or found on site.
Despite the sensational rumors, authorities never substantiated any claims of a human cage or any criminal activity in the motel’s basement.
Now, with the Ideal Inn fully demolished, the once-mysterious structure is gone for good—along with the chilling speculation that surrounded it.
