Grand Forks Friday Evening Weather Update

good evening everyone welcome to und’s weather update my name is trees hop taking a look at those forecast headlines for this evening we do see that there is a possibility for some rain and snow tomorrow so that freezing rain could start this evening so be aware of that as you’re making your travel plans the good news is we could be having a pretty warm week in comparison especially to this past week so look forward to that and also the possibility of some snow on wednesday if we take a look at almanac for yesterday we did reach a high of 20 degrees that’s about normal here for grand forks so back to those normal temperatures here taking a look outside right now pretty cloudy but that wind is going at about 17 miles per hour coming from the southeast and we are sitting at 23 degrees for our temperature taking a look at the temperatures across our region 24 in fargo and minot 25 in bismarck rapid city nice and warm at 39 as we take a look at minnesota 23 in minneapolis and 21 in both brainerd and duluth if we take a look at how those how that wind is affecting these temperatures wind chill in minneapolis is 12 and in brainerd and bemidji and grand forks all at 9 degrees for that wind chill 12 out in minot in rapid city again nice and warm at 34. if we take a look at the temperatures across the region 32 up in great falls and then salt lake city in los angeles sitting around 50 degrees now here in boston in these new england states it’s quite chilly boston is at 17 degrees but as we travel south of course warmer miami is at 70. taking a look at that national satellite and radar this system that’s moving across um and towards the rocky mountains is producing some rain that was in california and now moving into the rocky mountains and into nevada and there also is some rain down here in the new mexico area and into texas so be aware of that if you are in those regions taking a look at that future cast here for our region this low pressure system is going to come up and that’s where we could see this possible precipitation tomorrow but most of that is going to stick within this iowa illinois wisconsin and up a little bit into minnesota minneapolis could see some snow tomorrow moving on to tonight 23 for our low that 30 percent chance of freezing freezing rain but it is going to be warmer than we have been experiencing those winds out of the southeast 10 to 15 but gusts up to 23. now that chance of freezing rain and precipitation will move into tomorrow we could see some snow some freezing rain some freezing drizzle just be aware of that mix of precipitation over the next 24 hours but no accumulation is expected tomorrow we could see a high of 28 and those winds will be out of the east 5 to 10 with gusts up to 18. this weekend though besides that freezing rain on saturday it should be quite nice sunday we see the sun peek out and we’re sitting at 25 degrees for our high taking a look at the next seven days pretty nice temperatures overall tuesday we could hit 30 degrees once again and this is where wednesday thursday we could see that precipitation come into play so be aware of that as you’re making plans for the middle of next week thank you so much for joining und’s weather update my name is teresa
