Grand Forks Duo Celebrates July 4th and Pays Tribute to Our Country With Chalk Art

GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) A Grand Forks couple is honoring our Country and celebrating the Fourth of July with chalk art.
Neil Berg here with uh joseph and julie kaponos you’ve done some fourth of july decorations here so what inspired this well we we are very patriotic family we come from a hard-working patriotic uh background we felt like we owed it to our neighborhood and our community to to kind of highlight the the fact that this is a great land to live in uh land of the free home of the brave and we just wanted to highlight that you’re a retired air force guy i am retired air force i spent 20 years in the in the military so that’s part of my background all right uh julie you said you kind of had an interesting story a little kid came by yesterday whatever there was a little girl that walked by last night with her daddy and uh they walked all the way down the sidewalk reading each of the names of the states that we’ve written here and her daddy asked her he said what state are we in and she said north dakota came back to the to the block right behind us where north dakota’s written so we just thought that was kind of neat all right and this is an apolitical statement here aren’t we you know we’re living in a pretty dang good country no matter what you think of the politics that’s correct absolutely we’re we’re not uh here to show any kind of support in one way or another we just want to highlight the fact that this is a great country to live in all right all right thank you [Music] [Applause] three [Music] [Music] you
