Grand Forks County Wildfire Ignites Near Air Force Base, Prompts Emergency Response

Grand Forks County, ND (trfnews.i234.me)On the evening of Friday, April 25, 2025, a wildfire broke out approximately one mile east and slightly north of Grand Forks Air Force Base, within a designated wildlife area. The fire was reported around 7:45 p.m., prompting an immediate response from the Grand Forks Air Force Base Fire Department, the Emerado Fire Department, and other local firefighting units.

Due to the challenging terrain, firefighters utilized all-terrain vehicles equipped with water tanks to access and combat the blaze. The fire was contained to the wildlife area, and no injuries or structural damage have been reported at this time. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
