GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – Grand Forks Police handled a steady stream of calls for service from just after midnight on Friday, November 14, 2025, through the early morning hours of Saturday, November 15. The call log shows a mix of domestic disturbances, welfare checks, mental health-related emergencies, traffic crashes, and suspected criminal activity across the city.
Multiple domestics and disorderly calls
Officers were dispatched to several domestic disturbance reports during the 24 hours, including calls in the 1600 block of South 14th Street, the 700 block of South 21st Street, the 2200 block of 10th Avenue North, the 2500 block of Glenwood Drive, and locations along 1st Avenue South and Curran Court. In several of these cases, dispatch notes list the incidents simply as “DOMESTIC,” indicating relationship-based disputes that required a police response.
Police also responded to disorderly conduct complaints, both “in progress” and “occurred prior,” around the downtown and Demers Avenue areas, as well as criminal trespass calls at addresses on North 25th Street and Cherry Street. An “unauthorized use motor vehicle” report was logged in the 100 block of South 5th Street on Friday evening.
Crashes, hit-and-run reports, and traffic enforcement
Several traffic-related calls came in throughout the day and night. The log lists an accident in the 4800 block of Gateway Drive, followed by an injury crash near Copper Gate Drive and North 51st Street, and a reported hit-and-run in progress at 24th Avenue South and South 34th Street.
In addition to the crashes, officers conducted numerous traffic stops across Grand Forks, including along South Washington Street, Columbia Road, Demers Avenue, Gateway Drive, University Avenue, and Interstate 29. A “traffic enforcement” detail was also noted near Gateway Drive and Ralph Engelstad Arena Drive as the evening progressed.
Mental health, welfare checks, and 911 calls
Several calls involved possible mental health crises. The log lists “EMS PSYCHIATRIC DISORDERS” responses in the 500 block of 1st Avenue South and the 600 block of 4th Avenue South, along with a “SUICIDAL PERSON – POSSIBLE INJURIES” call in the 3500 block of 11th Avenue North. Officers and EMS also handled a “SUICIDE THREAT” in the 700 block of 4th Avenue South.
Grand Forks Police were additionally sent to multiple welfare checks at locations including the 2400 block of 30th Avenue South, Demers Avenue and South Columbia Road, 700 block of North 40th Street, 1800 block of South 20th Street, and the 1200 block of South Columbia Road. Several 911 hang-up or open-line calls were logged, which are typically followed up to confirm whether anyone needs assistance.
Burglary, fraud, weapons call, and other reports
Property-related calls included two “BURGLARY OCCURRED PRIOR” reports in the 3700 block of 30th Avenue South and an “ALARM BUSINESS BURGLARY” in the 1400 block of 24th Avenue South. A fraud/forgery case was listed in the 4900 block of Golden Gate Drive, and officers were sent to investigate a theft that reportedly occurred earlier in the 600 block of South 47th Street.
A “WEAPONS RELATED” call was logged in the 600 block of Red Dot Place in the early morning hours of November 15. Details on that incident, as well as others in the log, were not immediately available beyond the brief dispatch descriptions.
Routine calls and ongoing investigations
Alongside higher-priority calls, the log shows routine police work such as parking complaints, community policing details, follow-up visits, civil matter assists, warrant services, administrative entries, and animal control calls throughout the city.
