Grand Forks County (trfnews.i234.me) — A shocking incident unfolded on March 12th at 3:35 p.m. at the Grand Forks Mission shelter when police responded to a report of a weapons violation. According to court documents, Myron M. Demery of Dunseith allegedly got into a heated argument with another man who owed him $20. Things escalated when Demery reportedly threatened to stab the man over the unpaid debt.
Upon police arrival, Demery denied making any threats, but authorities have since charged him with felony terrorizing in connection with the incident. No injuries were reported, but the situation left staff members and residents at the shelter rattled. The case adds to a string of alarming confrontations happening at Grand Forks shelters and public spaces.
