Grand Forks County (trfnews.i234.me) — We have a breaking update out of Grand Forks from Wednesday evening involving a major police response on the 2100 block of 8th Avenue North, just southeast of Memorial Park Cemetery.

According to the Sergeant of the Grand Forks Police Department, officers were dispatched to a domestic violence situation after a woman reported being assaulted by suspect Daniel Molstad.

Upon arrival, Molstad reportedly retreated to a back bedroom and barricaded himself inside. Police immediately set up a perimeter and used a bullhorn for approximately 15 minutes, ordering the suspect to surrender.

Thankfully, Molstad eventually emerged without incident and was taken into custody. He now faces pending charges of aggravated assault, interference with a 911 call, and felonious restraint.

Stay with us as more details become available.
