Grand Forks Co. Man Arrested, Faces Drug Charge in Jail

GRAND FORKS COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) – A Grand Forks man is facing multiple charges after being arrested on an active warrant and later found with drugs inside the county jail.

Just after 1 p.m. on September 24, officers with the Grand Forks Police Department recognized Ryan Baker, who had an outstanding warrant. When approached, Baker attempted to flee on foot. Police used a takedown to stop him and placed him under arrest.

Baker was taken to the Grand Forks County Correctional Center. During intake, law enforcement discovered a piece of tin foil with a white substance hidden on him. A field test returned positive results for methamphetamine.

Along with his warrant arrest, Baker is now facing additional charges of refusal to halt, resisting arrest, and possession of a controlled substance in a correctional facility.

This case remains under investigation. For more details on correctional facility drug laws and charges, visit the North Dakota Courts or the DEA.

I’m Chris Harper reporting for TRF News.
