Grand Forks County ( trfnews.i234.me ) – An East Grand Forks man is facing felony charges after police say he entered multiple vehicles in Grand Forks.
According to court documents, the incidents happened on September 27. A homeowner reported that Munier Abokar had been inside his vehicle parked in the garage. The homeowner also stated that Abokar was not alone, as a juvenile female was reportedly present inside the vehicle.
Another witness reported seeing Abokar and the juvenile inside a different vehicle parked outside the residence. Officers later located and arrested Abokar. He is now charged with felony burglary and unlawful entry into a motor vehicle.
Authorities emphasize that unlawful vehicle entry is treated seriously, especially when multiple victims are involved. The presence of a juvenile during the reported incidents adds further concern for investigators. Vehicle break-ins not only damage property but also create significant safety risks in neighborhoods.
Community members are encouraged to lock vehicles, remove valuables, and promptly report suspicious activity. According to the North Dakota Attorney General’s Office, unlawful entry into a vehicle is a felony when linked to burglary or other aggravating factors.
The investigation is ongoing. Abokar will appear in court to answer to the felony charges.
