Grand Forks Approves Plans for Large-Scale Corn Milling Plant at Monday Night Meeting

GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) Plans for a massive corn milling plant in Grand Forks moved forward at a meeting of the Council’s, Committee as a Whole Monday night.
the grand forks city council’s committee of the whole gave approval tonight to move forward with a development agreement for a new 352 million dollar corn processing plant to be built just north of sim plot off gateway driving grand forks the proposed plant continues to garner concerns from some residents over its use of millions of gallons of water possible odor large use of natural gas and more what are we in grand forks doing to help save the planet instead of subsidizing this processing plant i would like grand forks to be a leader and set example for other communities by saying no to fufung and instead create a climate change mitigation plan for the city of grand forks some adjoining property owners object to the proposed plant because of a likely increase in property taxes to pay for infrastructure but keith lund of the economic development corporation says walking away from this major deal would set a bad precedent these things it’s a high profile project people are watching i’m just concerned about will people look at the community we’ll look at the economic development corporation and say are you really interested in outside investment are you really interested in growing the vote to approve the development agreement for the plant by the committee of the whole does not set anything in stone this all goes before the full city council next week i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me

  1. Who are the brain surgeons who thought letting CHINA own property anywhere near a major US military installation was a good idea in the first place, just seen the mayor of grand forks finally comming to his senses and doing a complete 180 on this, amazing what a little spanking from the USAF did
