Traffic stop and chase
The case began on December 16, 2023, the complaint states.
A Minnesota State Patrol trooper was asked to help stop Williams.
He was linked to a reported domestic dispute in Roseau County.
He was also accused in a gas drive-off, the complaint says.
While parked roadside, the trooper saw Williams drive through Goodridge.
The trooper estimated the speed at 80 to 90 miles per hour.
The squad lights and siren were turned on, the complaint says.
Williams kept driving and did not pull over.
He also failed to stop at a stop sign, the complaint states.
About four miles into the pursuit, Williams stopped.
Court records place the stop near 280th Avenue Northeast.
When asked why he did not stop, Williams gave no clear reason.
He said he did not know and spoke in a confused way.
The complaint says Williams could not show a driver’s license.
He also could not provide proof of insurance at the stop.
