Freeborn County (trfnews.i234.me)—77-Year-Old Man Hospitalized After Tire Blowout on I-90

Freeborn County, MN (trfnews.i234.me)A 77-year-old man from Frost, Minnesota, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries following a single-vehicle crash on westbound Interstate 90 near milepost 158 in Bancroft Township, Freeborn County, on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at approximately 3:48 PM.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the driver of a 2014 Kia Soul SUV experienced a tire blowout, causing the vehicle to veer off the left side of the road and strike a cable median barrier. The driver was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and no alcohol was involved. Road conditions were reported as dry.

Emergency responders from the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, Clarks Grove Fire Department, Mayo Clinic Ambulance, and the Minnesota Department of Transportation assisted at the scene. The driver was transported to Albert Lea Hospital for treatment.

The Minnesota State Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
