Officials identified the fatal victim as Alessandro Gelsomino, 46. Gelsomino is from Miami, Florida. He was driving a 2015 Peterbilt semi tractor. The report said he was wearing a seat belt. Airbags were not deployed, according to the report.

The other driver was Standley Calixte, 34. Calixte is from Hamilton, New Jersey. He was driving a 2020 Freightliner semi tractor. The State Patrol listed his injuries as non-life-threatening. He was taken to MCHS Albert Lea for care. The report said he was wearing a seat belt. Airbags were not deployed, the report said.
