James A. Damon, of Frazee, is charged with felony assault with a dangerous weapon.
He is also charged with two counts of misdemeanor assault.
Argument followed the report of a cat bite
According to court documents, the incident happened on January 1.
The dispute began after an unvaccinated cat reportedly bit a person.
Authorities say that led to an argument between Damon and others.
Knife threat allegation
In the criminal complaint, investigators say Damon pulled a knife.
He allegedly threatened to kill two people during the confrontation.
Law enforcement later photographed a knife as part of the investigation.

What Damon told deputies
Court documents say Damon told a deputy he was defending himself.
He also claimed no knife was used during the argument.
Despite that, officers arrested Damon after the reported threat.
Next steps in the case
The charges are accusations and Damon is presumed innocent.
The case will proceed in court, where prosecutors must prove the claims.
