Fourth of July Shooting in Downtown Grand Forks: Suspect Arrested, Coroner on Scene

GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – We have a report of a shooting in downtown Grand Forks this Fourth of July evening. It appears one man has been arrested and the coroner is on the scene.

We have an update now regarding a report of shots fired on South Fourth Street in Grand Forks. At this point, we are not sure if anyone was injured as we haven’t had a chance to speak with police yet. However, our camera person has been talking with a witness on the scene who says the incident started at Sledsters.

A shot was fired, and the suspect ran out the back door to Tea and Crepes, where he attempted to hide in a closet. The suspect appeared mentally unstable, and after shooting someone, he hid in the storage closet of Tea and Crepes. The owner, who was present with her children, called 911. The police arrived and arrested the suspect, but it is unclear if anyone was injured or killed.

The presence of the coroner’s truck suggests a fatality, but this cannot be confirmed at this time. We are waiting to talk with the police and will provide more information as soon as it becomes available. Stick with TRF News for the latest updates.
