Background and Charges

Booge pleaded guilty in January to assaulting his girlfriend’s young daughter in incidents that occurred in January 2019 and August 2023. The charges stemmed from a report received by the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 30, 2023, where the victim’s mother disclosed inappropriate touching by Booge.

Legal Proceedings

The criminal complaint revealed that Booge had allegedly engaged in inappropriate behavior, including bathing with the victim and touching her inappropriately. Initially facing more severe charges, Booge was arrested on Sept. 5, 2023, with the charges later amended to two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Employment History

During the investigation, it was discovered that Booge had briefly worked as a girls’ volleyball coach at Bemidji Middle School. He resigned from this position on Sept. 3, 2023.

Previous Record

Booge had no documented criminal history in Minnesota before the September 2023 charges.

This sentencing underscores the importance of safeguarding vulnerable individuals and holding perpetrators accountable for their actions.
