MINNEAPOLIS (trfnews.i234.me)  – Bobbi Jo Johnson, also known as Bobbi Jo Kingbird, has been found guilty by a federal jury of child neglect and child endangerment on the Red Lake Indian Reservation. The 46-year-old Red Lake woman’s conviction spans from January 2021 to April 2022.

The victim, a child in the foster care of her sister and co-defendant, Trina Johnson, suffered severe abuse. This included withholding food to the point of starvation, subjecting the child to prolonged uncomfortable positions, and physical assault.

Trina Johnson admitted guilt to charges of child torture, endangerment, and assault. Additionally, Ellie Johnson, Patricia Johnson, and Bertram Lussier, Jr. each pleaded guilty to one count of child endangerment.

Sentencing for all five individuals will occur at a later date.
