Fergus Falls, Otter Tail County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Fergus Falls man with a prior domestic conviction is now facing new gross misdemeanor charges following a domestic assault incident at his home on June 26, 2025.
According to court records, Mike Paul Bussian, 57, became enraged after his wife returned home from the Eagle bar without him. During the argument, he allegedly hit her glasses off her face. Officers later found the glasses under a pool table, supporting the victim’s account. She called her daughter, who arrived and confronted Bussian.
Both Bussian and the victim appeared intoxicated, and Bussian denied any physical altercation. However, he has a previous domestic assault conviction involving the same victim (file 56-CR-20-2535), making this a subsequent offense under Minnesota law.
Bussian is now charged with Domestic Assault – Subsequent Violation, punishable by up to 1 year in jail and a $3,000 fine.
