Fergus Falls Man Faces Child Solicitation, Drug Charges

Fergus Falls (trfnews.i234.me) — A Fergus Falls man faces felony charges following an online decoy report.

The report led police to his home on West Lincoln Avenue.

Braxton Monte Anderson, 41, is charged with three counts of electronic solicitation of a child.

He also faces several drug-related allegations.

Messages Reported to Police

Police responded shortly before 9:30 a.m. on July 24.

The call involved a residence in the 100 block of West Lincoln Avenue.

A citizen group told police it uses online profiles that appear to belong to minors.

The group reported messages involving Anderson.

Court documents say Anderson believed he was communicating with a 14-year-old girl.

The account was operated by a decoy.

The complaint says Anderson sent sexually explicit messages and images.

It also says he discussed meeting the person.

Documents say the conversation began through a dating application.

Anderson allegedly continued after being told the person was 14.

The citizen group later confronted Anderson outside his residence.

A group member then contacted police.

Police reviewed the messages and interviewed Anderson.

Court documents say Anderson admitted believing the person was 14.

The documents also say he acknowledged the messages were sexual.

Investigators later searched Anderson’s apartment.

They seized electronic devices, suspected methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia, according to the complaint.

The suspected methamphetamine weighed about 7.5 grams.

Two children younger than 15 were reportedly inside the home.

The residence was near a city park and the Fergus Falls Riverfront Splash Pad.

Anderson faces an allegation involving methamphetamine possession in a park zone.

Another allegation involves paraphernalia stored in a home with children.
