FERGUS FALLS, MN (trfnews.i234.me)—Aaron J. Mickelson of Fergus Falls is facing felony burglary and multiple misdemeanor charges after a terrifying home invasion, according to court documents.

The incident occurred on January 31, when a female victim returned home at 3:45 p.m., parked in the attached garage, and entered her residence. After using the bathroom in her bedroom, she walked out to find Mickelson standing inside the room.

When she demanded to know why he was there, Mickelson allegedly responded, “They told me to come.” Despite repeatedly telling him to leave, he refused and began following her as she moved toward the exit.

Fearing for her life, the victim managed to escape the house, but Mickelson followed her outside and got into her husband’s truck, parked in the driveway. He adjusted the seat, prompting the woman to scream for her husband, who was working in a detached garage on the property.

As the husband emerged, Mickelson exited the vehicle and casually walked across the street to another residence.

The victim later showed officers the layout of the house, indicating that she believed Mickelson had already been inside when she arrived home—and that he had no permission to enter.

Law enforcement quickly located Mickelson and placed him under arrest. While completing paperwork, an officer reported that Mickelson admitted to the crime, stating: “I did all that. I didn’t want anything to happen.”

Mickelson is now facing:

  • Felony first-degree burglary
  • Misdemeanor trespass
  • Misdemeanor tampering with a motor vehicle

This case highlights ongoing concerns about home security and personal safety. Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity to law enforcement.
