Fergus Falls’ Justin Michael Hanson Charged with Felony Burglary in Otter Tail County

FERGUS FALLS, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – On December 18, 2024, at approximately 1:30 a.m., the Fergus Falls Police Department responded to a reported burglary at Casey’s General Store on East Vernon Avenue.

The suspect forcibly entered the premises, stealing over $5,000 in cash and more than 30 cartons of cigarettes.

Suspect Information

The suspect, identified as 39-year-old Justin Michael Hanson of Fergus Falls, was formerly employed at the gas station until his termination before the incident. Hanson has been charged with felony second-degree burglary and felony receiving stolen property.

Legal Proceedings

Hanson was taken into custody on January 6, 2025, and is currently held at the Otter Tail County Jail.

He made his initial court appearance following his arrest.

Police Investigation

The Fergus Falls Police Department is reviewing surveillance footage and other evidence related to the case. They have requested public assistance in identifying any additional individuals involved.
