Beltrami County (trfnews.i234.me) – A routine traffic stop on April 8, 2025, turned into a felony drug arrest after Bemidji Police Officer Timothy Korinta stopped a vehicle for failing to signal on 29th Street NW. The driver was arrested for suspected drug-related DWI, prompting a vehicle search.
Seated in the front passenger seat was Felicia Dawn Lussier, 37, of Bemidji. Officers found a black purse with her ID and multiple white pills, later confirmed to be Ativan (Lorazepam), a Schedule IV controlled substance.
Lussier admitted she was trying to quit using pills, meth, and fentanyl, and said a friend gave her the Ativan. She now faces felony fifth-degree drug possession charges, which carry a potential 5-year prison sentence and/or a $10,000 fine.
The case is eligible for drug court screening as it proceeds in the Beltrami County District Court.
