McHENRY COUNTY, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) – A 64-year-old man from Voltaire, North Dakota, died following an incident in rural McHenry County. The event occurred shortly after 9 p.m. on Wednesday in the 100 block of 42nd Street North, approximately five miles south of Karlsruhe.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the man was operating a 1989 Ford F-350 pickup truck that veered off a driveway and became immobilized in a ditch. A 74-year-old man from Balfour arrived to assist, utilizing a 2002 GMC Yukon to tow the stranded vehicle. During the towing process, the vehicles approached a nearby structure. The driver of the Ford exited his vehicle to assess the situation, while the other individual continued towing, unaware that the driver had left his vehicle. Subsequently, the 64-year-old man was pinned between the pickup and the structure.
Emergency responders extricated the man and administered CPR at the scene. He was transported toward a medical facility but succumbed to his injuries en route. The identities of both individuals involved have not been released, and the incident remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
