Mahnomen Co. ( trfnews.i234.me ) – We now have an update on the crash reported Tuesday evening west of Mahnomen. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the accident occurred at 7:17 p.m. on Highway 200 and has resulted in one fatality.

Authorities say a Dodge Avenger driven by 20-year-old Chance Eugene Keezer of Mahnomen was traveling westbound when it collided with a westbound tractor. The tractor was driven by 68-year-old Donald Gregory Kaiser of Gary, Minnesota. Neither Keezer nor Kaiser was injured in the crash.

Tragically, the crash claimed the life of Keezer’s passenger, 53-year-old Robert Edward Keezer of Mahnomen. The State Patrol confirmed alcohol was a factor for the driver, though it remains unclear whether alcohol was involved for the passenger.

The collision left the vehicle heavily damaged, and emergency responders pronounced Robert Edward Keezer deceased at the scene. The Minnesota State Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances of the crash, including the role alcohol played in the incident.

This marks another fatal crash on rural Minnesota highways, where farm equipment and vehicles often share the road. Safety officials remind drivers to exercise caution and be mindful of slower-moving machinery. For more information on sharing the road with farm vehicles, see the Minnesota Department of Transportation guide.
