Halstad Township, Norman County, MN (trfnews.i234.me)—A tragic collision occurred on January 25, 2025, at approximately 12:20 AM on US Highway 75 and 270th Avenue. The crash involved a 2003 Ford Taurus traveling northbound and a 2016 International PROSTAR semi-truck traveling southbound. The two vehicles collided in the southbound lanes, resulting in a fatality.

The driver of the Ford Taurus, identified as Raymundo B. Zenteno, a 68-year-old man from Climax, MN, sustained fatal injuries and was transported to Sanford Health. The condition of the vehicle’s airbags and whether the driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash remains unknown. Authorities are also investigating if alcohol played a role.

The semi-truck driver, Luis Enrique Pardo, a 26-year-old man from Mexico, was unharmed in the incident. He was wearing a seatbelt, and no alcohol involvement was reported in his case.

Road conditions at the time were described as snowy and icy, contributing to the severity of the collision. Emergency response was provided by the Norman County Sheriff’s Office, Essentia EMS, Ada Police Department, and Halstad Fire and Rescue.

This tragic event underscores the dangers of winter driving and serves as a reminder for caution during hazardous weather conditions.
