Fargo, North Dakota (trfnews.i234.me) – A Fargo man is facing a felony charge after a stolen purse led investigators to nearly $900 in fraudulent transactions and video evidence tying him to the crime.

According to court documents, on July 7, 2025, a woman reported her purse stolen while at Oak Grove Park in Fargo. Shortly after the report, four unauthorized transactions were made using the woman’s bank card at various local businesses, totaling close to $900.

The investigation quickly led authorities to Robert David Sloan Jr., who was captured on surveillance video at one of the businesses where the stolen card was used.

Sloan is now formally charged with:

  • Felony: Unauthorized Use of Personal Identifying Information

If convicted, Sloan could face significant penalties, including prison time and fines under North Dakota law.
