FARGO, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – In a tragic turn of events, what initially began as a stabbing incident in Fargo early Thursday morning has now escalated into a murder investigation. The male victim, whose identity remains undisclosed at this time, has succumbed to his injuries.
At approximately 12:57 a.m. on Thursday, Fargo Police responded to a distress call reporting a stabbing in the 4200 block of 45th Street South. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male victim who had sustained stab wounds. He was swiftly transported to a nearby medical facility, where he was later pronounced dead.
Following a preliminary investigation, authorities determined that an altercation had erupted between the victim and the suspect, Michael Diedrich, 28, inside an establishment. Staff intervened, instructing both individuals to leave. However, the situation escalated, resulting in the fatal stabbing.
Michael Diedrich was subsequently apprehended by the Fargo Police Department at 1:27 p.m. in South Fargo. He now faces charges of murder in connection with the stabbing death.
As the investigation unfolds, further details regarding the victim’s identity will be disclosed following notification of next of kin.
