Fargo Birthday Party Gun Threat Leads to Arrest

FARGO, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) — A West Fargo woman faces two felony charges after an alleged gun threat at a child’s birthday party.

Police were called to the Arbors apartment complex around 9 p.m. on June 30. The reported disturbance involved a firearm.

Witnesses said Latoya Hughes displayed a handgun during an argument. They said she threatened several people attending the party.

Those nearby included a mother holding her 2-week-old baby. Children were also present during the dispute.

One witness said Hughes shouted that everyone could die during the confrontation.

Security Video Described in Court Documents

Court documents describe security video from the apartment complex. The footage reportedly showed a woman matching Hughes’ description leaving a black Chevrolet Tahoe.

The woman appeared to hold a handgun, according to the documents. She allegedly pulled the slide back before walking toward the group.

Children remained nearby as the woman approached, the documents said.
