Grand Forks, ND (trfnews.i234.me) — On Sunday, June 1, at approximately 12:25 p.m., the Grand Forks Fire Department responded to a report of smoke at a private residence located at 1322 Allwood Court. Upon arrival, fire crews discovered active flames on the first floor and smoke permeating the home.
The fire was swiftly extinguished, with moderate damage confined to the kitchen area. The cause has been determined to be accidental. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported among the occupants or fire service personnel. The residents have been displaced and are receiving assistance from family members.
The Grand Forks Fire Department reminds everyone to keep flammable items such as oven mitts, utensils, food packages, and towels away from stovetops to prevent similar incidents.
