Grand Forks, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) — A Grand Forks man accused of abusing his wife while she battled cancer was sentenced Friday to five years in prison.
Joshua Temple was sentenced after a plea agreement. He pleaded guilty on January 30 to endangering an eligible adult and terrorizing. Two domestic violence counts were dismissed.
What court records allege
Court records say Whitney Temple, a medical doctor, disclosed abuse during an emergency room visit. Records say she was treated for complications during chemotherapy.
A physician at Altru Hospital documented bruising on her body, according to court records. Responding officers also reported visible injuries, records state.
Joshua Temple was arrested on April 9, 2024. Court documents and published reports say Whitney Temple died on May 6, 2024.
Sentence details
Temple received five years in prison. He also received two years of supervised probation after release.
