Erratic Driver at DigiKey: Man Arrested for DWI and Test Refusal

Thief River Falls, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – On May 22 at 1:04 p.m., police received reports of a car driving erratically around the 700 block of Brooks Ave. S. Dispatch later informed the officer that the suspect vehicle had parked in the west parking lot of DigiKey. Miguel Angel Ramirezalvarez, 54, of Pomona, Calif., was arrested and charged with third-degree refusal to submit to a chemical test and fourth-degree DWI.

According to the complaint, the officer noted the smell of alcohol coming from the vehicle and observed signs of impairment. When questioned, Ramirezalvarez denied drinking and refused to provide his driver’s license. After ignoring the officer’s instructions to exit the vehicle, he attempted to drive forward and park, leading the officer to open the driver’s side door and physically remove him from the vehicle.

During the escort to the patrol vehicle, Ramirezalvarez admitted to consuming three shots of alcohol. At the Law Enforcement Center, after speaking with an attorney, he refused a breath test, citing its incriminating nature.
