Election Day Kicks Off in Grand Forks, Sees Surge in Early Voting

GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) Election Day is underway in Grand Forks, where the County Auditor says there has been a massive, early voting turnout.
Neil Berg here at the alaris center in grand forks where election day is just getting underway i just talked with county auditor debbie nelson who says as many people voted early as almost the total for the entire 2016 election yes we are seven days of early voting we’ve had uh 11 000 people and we’ve had over 15 000 vote absentee so we’ve got 26 000 people in grand forks county that’s already voted so how does that compare like to 2016. in 2016 we had 30 000 voters so all together yes all together oh so the you’ve already uh nearly have that many votes before getting started that’s right okay do you think there’s going to be a big crowd today or a lot of people took care of it early well i think there will be a big crowd i think a lot of people like to vote on election day and we will see that today but we’re ready do you think this will go down historically as one of the biggest turnouts in election history for grand forks county uh it might we could very well see that i would not be surprised okay uh anything in particular things are set up but ready to go we’re ready to go yeah okay don’t foresee any problems i do not polls are open here in grand forks on the north dakota side of the river from 7 a.m to 7 p.m on the minnesota side 7 a.m to 8 p.m i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
