East Grand Forks: Nordine Faces Meth, DWI Charges

EAST GRAND FORKS, MN (trfnews.i234.me) — Courtney Lynn Mae Nordine faces three criminal charges following a September 25, 2026, traffic stop.

The charges include felony methamphetamine possession in a prohibited zone and two driving while impaired counts.

Prosecutors allege her two children were inside the Chevrolet Equinox during the impaired-driving offense.

Police Follow SUV to Gas Station

According to the complaint, investigators watched Kailee Rae Ostlund place backpacks in a Chevrolet Equinox near Stauss Park.

Nordine later entered the driver’s seat and drove away, with Ostlund riding as a passenger.

Police reported that the vehicle passed near Riverside Christian Elementary School.

Officers also reported a missed stop and an improper turn signal.

An officer activated emergency lights, and the SUV stopped at a Circle K gas station.

Investigators identified Nordine as the driver.

Search Finds Suspected Meth and Cash

Police said Nordine had bloodshot, glossy eyes and slurred speech during the stop.

She completed field sobriety tests before being arrested, according to the complaint.

During a vehicle search, officers found suspected drug-use items in a backpack.

Investigators also searched Ostlund’s purse and found $2,805 and a fake Red Bull can with a hidden compartment.

Inside the can, police found several small bags containing suspected methamphetamine.

Field tests were positive for methamphetamine, according to the complaint.

The material weighed about 9.4 grams with its packaging included.

The document does not report a final laboratory analysis of those substances.

Nordine Describes Earlier Drug Use

During a later interview, Nordine reportedly acknowledged smoking methamphetamine with Ostlund earlier that day in Grand Forks.

She also said she drove to collect her children from school afterward, according to investigators.

A preliminary urine test reportedly came back positive for methamphetamine.

The complaint quotes Nordine as saying, “I made a stupid choice.”

Prosecutors allege the drug possession occurred near schools or Stauss Park, or that Nordine aided Ostlund.
