East Grand Forks, Polk County (trfnews.i234.me) – Matthew Joseph Estrada, 36, of East Grand Forks, is once again facing multiple charges after allegedly driving under the influence and running a red light on May 31, 2025, despite having a revoked license from a prior DWI conviction.
Officer Herman Gray observed Estrada blow through a red light on Highway 2 and pulled him over. Estrada admitted to using his phone while driving and fumbled to provide ID. Officers noted slurred speech, watery eyes, and a moderate odor of alcohol. Estrada admitted to drinking two Coronas earlier that evening.
Field sobriety tests revealed clear signs of impairment. A breath test later confirmed a .08 BAC, just over the legal limit. Officers also discovered that Estrada’s license had been revoked since 2018 following a previous DWI conviction.
Estrada now faces the following charges:

Under Minnesota law, Estrada may be required to undergo electronic alcohol monitoring if released.
