the City of East Grand Forks has reached a settlement on the cost of pool repairs that left it shut down for most of the 2017 season the council approved a settlement agreement Tuesday night regarding the East Grand Forks swimming pool after the East Grand Forks Council held a closed meeting the details of the settlement were made public after the meeting took place and the agreement was approved with information on the total cost for repair of the may 25th 2017 pool failure legal fees and parties responsible for payment the total cost for the pool failure repair including legal fees was one hundred eighty two thousand dollars with the city’s insurance carrier pain $136 $136,000 the remaining amount including legal fees came to forty five thousand with construction costs of twenty-three thousand and legal fees of twenty one thousand the general contractor’s insurance carrier cincinnati insurance offered to pay the remaining balance of forty five thousand dollars in exchange for the release of all claims agreement the release is limited to the repairs related to the May 25th incident with the a general contractor still being responsible for any other failures I’m Neil Berg reporting for page one publications calm
