good news for grand forks liquor license holders uh this in from the city mayor brandon buchinski has issued executive order 2020 22.1 which extends existing alcohol and food establishment restaurant license through december 31st of 2021 the order extended those existing licenses to march 31st of 2021 and the new order will extend them through the entire 2021 calendar year this will in effect eliminate 2021 license fees for the specific classes of alcohol and restaurant licenses listed in the order the city plans to use cares funding to offset the diminished revenue to the general fund we consider this action uh back in november we considered this action back in november in conjunction with the early closure and 50 percent capacity requirements enacted at that time we decided to extend the licenses through march effectively waiving 25 percent of the license fees said mayor bachinski since the governor extended his 10 pm closure and 50 capacity requirement on bars and restaurants into january offsetting uh some of the burden on our license holders is reasonable and prudent at this time while other states are in conflict with their businesses grant fork strives to continually work proactively with our business community we would like to thank governor burgum and the north dakota emergency commission for their continued support of local decision making and the resources the state has provided said mayor bushinski i’m Neil Berg reporting for eye news dot tv
