Saint Paul, MN (trfnews.i234.me) — A devastating crash occurred Sunday evening at the intersection of Arlington Avenue West and Dale Street North in Saint Paul, resulting in the death of an SUV driver. The incident happened just after 7:30 p.m. when a silver sedan, traveling westbound on Arlington Avenue at high speed, ran a red light and collided with a black SUV heading south on Dale Street.
The impact pushed the SUV approximately 40 yards, trapping the adult male driver inside. Firefighters extricated the man, but he was later pronounced dead. Authorities have not yet released his identity.
The driver of the silver sedan was transported to Regions Hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. Police suspect alcohol may have been a factor in the crash and are pursuing a warrant to obtain a blood sample from the driver.
The Saint Paul Police Department continues to investigate the incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact the authorities.
