Traffic Stop & Drug Discovery
The October 19 incident began when an officer stopped Jourdain near First St. W. in Pennington County after observing him driving despite having a canceled license for public safety concerns.
Signs of Drug Use:
Bloodshot eyes
Avoiding eye contact
A butane torch in the cup holder
When questioned, Jourdain admitted to using methamphetamine just four to five days prior and failed field sobriety tests. A preliminary breath test showed a 0.00 BAC, confirming impairment was due to controlled substances.
Shocking Evidence Found in His Vehicle
During a search of the car, officers found:
Meth-laced liquid
Glass pipe with burnt meth residue
Six Alprazolam pills (Xanax) in the trunk
Five Gabapentin pills in the glovebox
Half of an acetaminophen/hydrocodone pill
A shooter of Fireball whiskey
Drug paraphernalia
Jourdain claimed ownership of the gabapentin pills and the glass pipe but denied knowledge of the other drugs, saying they must have been in the car when his mother purchased it. He also claimed the meth-laced liquid was just bong water.
A urine test was conducted and sent to the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for further analysis.
This bizarre and alarming case serves as a reminder of the ongoing drug crisis in Minnesota communities.
