East Grand Forks, Polk County (trfnews.i234.me) – A routine domestic disturbance call escalated into a violent arrest on March 22, 2025, when Keeshya Ann Decoteau, 19, of Grand Forks allegedly resisted arrest, lied to officers, and fought back violently in front of her children.

East Grand Forks police responded to a domestic dispute where Decoteau, identified only after giving a fake name and birthdate to officers, was uncooperative and attempted to flee with her children before being detained. When officers tried to arrest her for obstruction, she fought them on the ground, refused to release her backpack, and even grabbed at an officer’s handcuffs.

Body cam footage was disrupted when Decoteau allegedly knocked an officer’s camera from his vest. It took a taser threat before she complied. She was ultimately restrained using a WRAP device and transported to jail.

Decoteau faces:

  • Gross Misdemeanor Obstructing Legal Process

  • Misdemeanor: Giving a Peace Officer a False Name/ID

Her children were turned over to a family friend.
