Dilworth Man Faces 5 Felonies in Fargo-Moorhead Theft Case

EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me— A Dilworth man is facing multiple felony charges in a case involving stolen firearms and a vehicle taken from the Fargo-Moorhead area, according to Minnesota court documents.

Jesus M. Gonzalez has been charged in East Grand Forks with five felonies, including felon in possession of a firearm, possession of stolen property, and felony theft.

Investigators say the crime spree began on October 16, when Gonzalez allegedly stole a $2,100 shotgun from a truck in Fargo, North Dakota. Two days later, on October 18, he allegedly stole a $15,000 pickup from Moorhead, Minnesota, which had a 9mm handgun stored in the glove box.

According to the criminal complaint, Gonzalez then traveled to East Grand Forks on October 19 and sold the stolen pickup to an unsuspecting buyer for $3,100 in cash. Police later determined the truck was stolen after tracing the vehicle identification number (VIN).

Gonzalez was arrested shortly after in Fargo and extradited to Polk County to face charges. Court records show he has a lengthy criminal history involving theft and firearm-related offenses.

The case is being handled by the East Grand Forks Police Department and the Polk County Attorney’s Office. Authorities are also working with Fargo Police and Moorhead Police in the ongoing investigation.
