Grand Forks, ND – A devastating fire ripped through a trailer home in Grand Forks on Sunday morning, leaving the residence severely damaged and uninhabitable.
According to Battalion Chief Del Re Huitt, the Grand Forks Fire Department was dispatched at 11:47 a.m. to 5227 5th Avenue North after receiving reports of a structure fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke and flames engulfing the home.
Crews immediately launched an aggressive firefighting operation, attacking the flames both from the interior and exterior of the structure in an effort to bring the blaze under control. Despite their rapid response, the home sustained extensive damage, rendering it unlivable.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported among occupants or firefighters. However, the resident has been displaced and will need assistance in the aftermath of the fire. The exact cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
